Another trio of awards

Another trio of awards

The Thames Valley is an important dealmaking region for WestBridge so we were delighted to pick up another trio of awards at last week's Thames Valley Deals Awards, organised by The Business Magazine.

It has been quite a year for WestBridge on the awards front and this latest clutch comes just weeks after picking up three awards at Insider’s Thames Valley Dealmakers Awards.

Yet again, our MBO of Smart Capital Technology (SCT) in March this year was a winner.  Named overall Corporate Deal of the Year, the deal also picked up the award for Mid-Range Deal of the Year, a category that saw two of our other transactions shortlisted: our exit from bChannels and investment in Techex.

Andy Morgan, CEO of SCT, who led the MBO said:

“Having WestBridge as our private equity backer means we can benefit from their experience in different industries and talk to them about new opportunities in the future.”

WestBridge has given us a springboard to enter new territories, add new services and invest in our digital platform. In short, the deal and their support, enables us to expand.”

Our third win of the night saw Edward Minton named Young Dealmaker of the Year, a fiercely contested category.

Of his win, Edward said:

“I’m thrilled to have received this recognition but this wasn’t a solo effort.  Thanks must go to all my colleagues at WestBridge who are so supportive and the great team of high-quality advisers we work with in the region.”

The Thames Valley is an important dealmaking region for WestBridge and we believe these recent award wins are a testimony to the hard work of our team in the region and the deep relationships we have developed with the local M&A community.
