APEM named Large Business of the Year at North West Business of the Year Awards

APEM named Large Business of the Year at North West Business of the Year Awards

We were thrilled to see Leah McGimpsey, CEO at APEM Group, collect a trophy on behalf of the company at Wednesday’s North West Business of the Year Awards, organised the TheBusinessDesk.com

APEM, which we exited just a few weeks ago, won the Large Business of the Year category, which is for companies with over 251 employees.

The sell-out event saw over 400 guests celebrate the achievements of businesses across the region and from a wide range of sectors.

Guest speaker Emma Degg, chief executive of the North West Business Leadership Team, said in her opening speech: “The north west has always celebrated those who say, why not?”

This is a sentiment we uphold at WestBridge and which has been demonstrated by APEM since we backed its MBO in 2019.

Peter Barkley, partner at WestBridge, said:

"Congratulations to everyone at APEM. This award is a well-earned acknowledgement of the company’s outstanding success, which has been driven by strategic acquisitions and strong organic growth.

"Since our initial investment, APEM has evolved into a global leader in environmental consultancy and a true trailblazer in the north west. It has been a pleasure working alongside the management team, and I’m delighted to see their achievements recognised with this award.”

Michael Taylor, north west editor of TheBusinessDesk.com, said:

"A huge congratulations to all our winners and finalists. We have in place a rigorous judging process which really put all of those shortlisted through their paces.

"The judges faced really tough calls in not only choosing winners but selecting who would make it onto the shortlist. The judges heard not only incredible stories of resilience and innovation, but also how the spirit of togetherness and fairness runs through so many businesses."

Another of our other north west based companies, Alpine Fire, was shortlisted in the Employer of the Year and Medium Business of the Year categories.

Congratulations to everyone who won or was shortlisted.
