James MacLeay, who leads our responsible investment and ESG strategy, was recently involved in two highly anticipated industry events.
In June, he joined a fireside discussion at the British Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (BVCA) ESG Conference in London entitled 'Championing Net Zero: how to motivate your portfolio companies'.
Moderated by Misa Andriamihaja (Senior Investment Specialist at The Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change), James was joined on stage by Louise Plant from Alpine Fire Engineers Ltd, a WestBridge portfolio company.
The session provided some valuable and practical insights for investors keen to drive stronger engagement around ESG within their portfolio.
The following day, James hosted a panel at the Real Deals Value Creation Summit.
Titled, 'Strategic exit: how to achieve strong returns in a challenging market', James was joined by Bevan Duncan, partner, Livingbridge; Laurent Samama, managing partner, Jolt Capital and Rajib Arjun, CEO, Altius Strategic Consulting.
Among other things, they discussed:
- How to craft powerful equity stories against a challenging and dynamic macroeconomic backdrop
- How vital reliable data is for swift, confident transactions
-What steps firms should take to enhance their data's reliability
- Strategies for finding buyers, enhancing exit readiness, and expanding the buyer universe.
