Spotlight on ... Alpine Fire Engineers

Interested to know about the companies we invest in, what we look for and how we deliver value creation? Peter Barkley, who heads our Manchester office, tells us a little about Alpine Fire Engineers.

• Tell us a little about Alpine.

Alpine Fire Engineers are specialist providers in design, project management and maintenance of active fire suppression systems. As an LPCB level 4 accredited business the company is able to design, commission and maintain the most complex fixed fire protection systems available.

The business is based in Bury, Manchester and has built an outstanding reputation for high quality service and its solutions focussed, ‘can do’ attitude.

• When and what did WestBridge invest?

WestBridge invested £18.7m in December 2022 for a majority stake.

• What was it about Alpine that appealed to you?

The highly regulated nature of the markets in which the business operates, combined with the outstanding culture at the company and its best in class service provision. Alpine is a fantastic business that could continue to dominate its core markets and also has the potential to become a leader across a range of services in highly regulated and complex settings.

• How is Westbridge adding value?

WestBridge has partnered with a high quality leadership team and has already begun to support its accelerated growth ambitions through investment in additional business development and sales resource (alongside our operating partner Sale Blueprint).  We’re also supporting the ESG strategy of the business and investing in its people function with the recent appointment of a People Director.

• And what of the future?

We will continue to support the business’ ambitious organic growth plans and are actively appraising complementary M&A opportunities.
