Survey Solutions gears up for growth with appointment of CCO

Portfolio company Survey Solutions, a leading provider of engineering surveying and monitoring services, has appointed Jonathan Simpson Tarling as Chief Commercial Officer.

The announcement follows a period of rapid growth and activity at the business, which underwent a management buyout in January 2024.

Jonathan’s vast experience has included taking a SaaS start-up to a Stock Market listing; bagging a distinction in his MBA; working at a FTSE-350 security company; and, most recently, restructuring and leading a marine engineering subsidiary, which designs and operates complex monitoring systems for the construction industry, through a successful divestment process.

At Survey Solutions, Jonathan will be responsible for driving growth.

Commenting on his appointment, he said:

“It’s a really exciting time to be joining Survey Solutions. The company’s growth to date has been mainly organic, derived from referrals and recommendations.  Although this is an incredible testament to the quality of its service delivery, it means there is huge potential for further growth by implementing a proactive sales and marketing strategy, expanding geographically, introducing new service lines, and seeking out strategic acquisitions. I’m very much looking forward to working closely with my colleagues and other stakeholders to bring my industry and wider business experience to the table.”

The past few months have been a whirlwind.  As well as enhancing our CRM systems, we’ve made several key appointments to support sales, marketing and tendering.  We’ve introduced a new finance system that is fully integrated across all our offices; launched a training academy to help develop career paths for our own people; and have produced our first ESG Report.  We’re also developing a bespoke online portal that will enable our customers to see, share and integrate information throughout the lifecycle of their projects.”
