WESTBRIDGE CAPITAL portfolio company Vista Retail Support has been named a winner of the BVCA Management Team Awards 2017 for Wales.
The annual awards celebrate the success of UK companies that have been backed by UK private equity and venture capital investors.
Vista provides EPOS maintenance and technology support services to the retail, hospitality and leisure sectors in the UK, Europe and America. Clients include Lloyds Pharmacy, Superdrug, Costa Coffee and Odeon Cinemas.
WestBridge Capital supported a management buyout at Vista in May 2014 and has successfully helped the company make its ambitious growth plans a reality.
Sandy Smart, partner and chief investment officer at WestBridge Capital, said:
“We are delighted to have supported Richard Cottrell and his team over recent years and to see them gain such recognition. It is much deserved.
“This latest success adds to the growing list of awards achieved by investee companies from the WestBridge SME Fund. As well as featuring in the BVCA awards shortlist for the past five consecutive years, our companies - including Aero Stanrew, Kallidus, Vista and DB Systems - have picked up a range of other plaudits including a Queen’s Award, Deal of the Year and Management Team of the Year.
“Together these successes reflect our ability to identify and back great businesses with great managers.”
The BVCA judging panel commented:
“We were impressed with the skill with which Richard Cottrell and his team have developed this business from an EPOS support provider to a broader and more strategic provider of technology support services across retail, hospitality and leisure in the UK and Europe.
“The quality of their service was shown in 2016 when they achieved 100% contract renewals whilst also implementing significant business efficiencies.”
Vista will now go forward to compete in the national finals, the winners of which will be announced at the BVCA Gala Dinner in London on 30 November.
